The Kforce Story
In the rapidly changing staffing industry, Kforce stands for stability, strength, breadth of experience, national reach and sophisticated technology. Today, though, as it was more than 40 years ago when we began, it is our people who generate successful results.
Many of our 2,000 staffing specialists bring direct experience in the industries they serve, a knowledge base that is constantly updated with their involvement in their professions and their communities. Paired with a disciplined process of understanding the business needs of each hiring organization, identifying the best job seekers and making the right match, they deliver both exceptional service and results.
Kforce represents the convergence of two legacy companies, as well as the addition of a number of complementary businesses. Founded as Romac & Associates in 1966, the Company merged in 1998 with Source Services Corporation, an industry leader founded in 1962.
In 1999, the Firm changed its name to Kforce, an abbreviation of The KnowledgeForce®. Taken together, these two terms describe our heritage as well as our future. “Knowledge” reflects the dual concepts of the knowledge worker, an individual who brings a wealth of professional, personal and technical skills, and the knowledge-based employing organization; while “force” symbolizes the strength of the knowledgeable team that achieves the organization’s business objectives.
Kforce today represents the strength and resources of many leading specialty staffing organizations, including Romac International, Source EDP, Source Finance, UQ Solutions, SOI, PCS, Science Solution, CRE, Bayshore, CEIM, Scientific Staffing, Emergency Response Staffing (ERS), Hall Kinion and its OnStaff division (now the Kforce OnStaff Group), VistaRMS and Pinkerton Computer Consultants, Inc. The most recent addition is Bradson Corporation, which along with Pinkerton’s Government Solutions Division, merged to become Kforce Government Solutions.
By combining the skill and experience of these organizations, Kforce today provides contract and direct hire staffing solutions in the specialty skill areas of finance and accounting, information technology, healthcare, clinical research, scientific, title and escrow, mortgage and banking and credit union.
