Cancer Registry Training and Education

Kforce Healthcare constantly stays up-to-date on the latest changes in cancer registries, providing proper training for what is ahead. Since 2010, there have been several changes in cancer registry standards including:

• North American Association for Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) expanding data fields for type/extent  of cancer from 6 to 25
  
• Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) introducing new ways to assess and code blood and lymph node cancers
  
• A new edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) Cancer Staging Manual for physicians during diagnosis
  
• New rules from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) requiring anyone abstracting data from a cancer registry to have credentials by January 1, 2012
