Management Team

Peter M. Alonso, Group President, Health & Life Sciences
Pete Alonso is president of Industry Specialties, which includes the firm’s emerging niche business lines focused on Clinical Research, Healthcare, and Scientific. 

Alonso joined Kforce in 1985 as an information technology sales associate and received the No. 1 IT Sales Performer of the Year award in 1988, 1989, and 1990.  In 1991 he became an IT Regional Vice President, leading his team to be the Top Performing IT region in the firm, and was promoted to IT Division President in 1993.  In 1997 Peter accepted his current position as Group President, Health & Life Sciences.

As a successful leader and innovator, Alonso was a recipient of numerous leadership awards, including the prestigious Chairman’s Award.

Debra Wolfe, Group President, Scientific
Debra Wolfe is group president for the Scientific Staffing division of Kforce, where she is responsible for all aspects of operations, management and growth.  Wolfe, who manages multiple sites, also develops training programs, operational strategies, marketing programs, new market analysis and growth strategies.  She has also been involved in Kforce’s acquisition of a firm, integrating the business structure and teams.

Prior to her current role as Kforce group president, Wolfe was president and owner of Science Solutions, Inc., a regional staffing company specializing in contract and permanent placement of scientific personnel.  Wolfe handled new market research and planning, personnel recruitment and training, front and back office operations, P&L management, marketing and policy development.  Kforce purchased Science Solutions in 1999. 

Prior to her work at Kforce, Wolfe held positions as president and owner of National Labtech, a scientific staffing company which she founded in Olathe, Kan.; and district manager for the distribution company Corning, Inc.

Wolfe has received Kforce’s Pathfinder and Platinum awards in recognition of her exceptional leadership, and was selected as a management mentor.  She also received the Kforce Top Gun Award.  She is a graduate of Clemson University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry.

Krista Ashbrook, Market Director, Western Region
Krista Ashbrook is the Market Director for the West, which includes the Californian cities of San Diego, Irvine, San Jose, as well as Denver, Colorado. 

Ashbrook joined Kforce in 2001 as a scientific recruiter, when she received the Silver Rookie of the Year award.  She has demonstrated a high degree of versatility at Kforce, moving from recruiter into account management and eventually becoming the Dallas market manager.

Ashbrook graduated with a degree in biology from the University of Texas, and began her professional career in retail management.  She worked for more than four years as a plant microbiologist and HACCP coordinator for Quaker Oats, a division of Gatorade. 

Karen Huber, Director of Central Markets
Huber started with Kforce in 1999 as a scientific recruiter in Atlanta.  She later held both Recruiting and Sales roles in the Finance and Accounting Flex and Search Divisions before moving in 2003 to Columbus, Ohio, where she served as Market Manager of the Ohio and St. Louis Scientific markets. 
After graduating from Miami University in 1996 with a degree in Medical Technology, Huber worked as a hospital laboratory technologist.

Laurie McComb, Director of the Eastern Region
Laurie McComb is the Market Director for the East, which includes Atlanta, Boston, Rockville and Tampa.  She joined Kforce in 2000 as a scientific recruiter in Tampa.  After five years of successfully recruiting and achieving award-level performance, she was promoted to Market Manager of the Tampa Scientific market in 2005.  During this time, she led her team to achieve Market of the Year.  In 2007 she was promoted to Director.  After receiving a B.S. in Biology from the University of South Florida, McComb began her professional career in R&D in the pharmaceutical industry.
