Meeting the Project Management Demand
There is no shortage of demand for qualified project managers. In fact, according to the Project Management Institute (PMI), top executives report that project managers are becoming increasingly important to their companies for their ability to improve business performance in any industry.
As a result, there is a growing interest among project management professionals in earning one of several certifications as a way not only to expand their knowledge and skill sets, but also to increase their marketability.
Kforce is responding to this need with its Project Management Training program.
An e-learning program supported by SkillSoft, a PMI Charter-Global Registered Education Provider, the Kforce project management training program offers 224 hours of project management course work designed to help consultants earn one of three certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP): a globally recognized credential of choice for numerous industries and companies. Specific education and experience requirements, agreement to adhere to a code of professional conduct and the passing of a multiple-choice question exam are required to be eligible.
- Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM): intended for those practitioners who provide project management services but are relatively new to the profession and rely on experienced project managers for guidance and approval.
- Program Management Professional (PgMP®): PMI’s newest credential, PgMP is specifically designed to acknowledge the qualifications of the professional who leads the coordinated management of multiple projects and ensures the ultimate success of a program. Candidates who earn this credential will be internationally recognized as professionals with the knowledge and experience to make and implement the important decisions and accomplish the strategic objectives that enhance business results.
The list of approved courses also affords certified PMPs hundreds of courses toward the required 60 required professional development units required every three years to maintain certification.
