| Description: Our client is seeking a Lead Development engineer to join the Scanner Hardware group and work under limited supervision to perform general product development engineering tasks. This person will support product development, including prototype development of devices, fabrication, verification testing and analysis; work on technical specifications including design and test, and test method development to meet product requirements; and apply fundamental engineering principles to the design, fabrication, testing and evaluation of optomechanical products. This person will leverage statistics, analysis, simulation and experimentation in the design and development process; analyze and resolve design problems associated with product performance; and research and recommend test equipment, design tools, and laboratory tools appropriate for the characterization of a medical device's physical properties and suitability. This person will provide technical support to manufacturing and service as needed; and design tests for mean time between failures.

| Requirements: A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and 5+ years of experience in a product development atmosphere is required. Experience performing verification and lifetime testing; experience in test methods development and documentation; and experience with reliability testing, both product and module levels is required. Experience in determining and driving packaging/shipping reliability testing; the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment; and strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Outstanding problem solving skills, the ability to present ideas and results effectively, and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Experience with scientific instrumentation and/or automated microscopic instrumentation development engineering; knowledge of medical product development and FDA regulations; and experience in manufacturing handover processes is required.
