Description: A major manufacturing company, located near Bridgewater, New Jersey is seeking a Process Development Engineer.
Duties:
- Provide engineering support to the New Process Development Team to implement projects for new and existing manufacturing processes
- Support the New Process Development group by developing and implementing systems for the manufacturing of new products
- Develop and implement systems to increase the efficiency and reduce costs associated with existing manufacturing processes while maintaining or increasing finished part quality
- Identify and develop concepts for cost reduction through continuous improvements
- Measure and document all improvements
- Design new equipment (fixtures, gages, semi-automatic machines, automatic machines, etc.) and processes for new and existing products
- New equipment and processes may include, but are not limited to PLCs, machine vision (cameras and associated hardware), pneumatics, electric motors, robotics, sensors, safety equipment, etc. Ensure that all new equipment/tooling is designed per current customer specifications. Be a hands-on Engineer; install, develop, debug, and troubleshoot equipment and processes on the manufacturing floor. Write Work Instructions, PM Plans, Engineering Studies, etc. and Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols. Use quality tools to measure, evaluate, and optimize processes (GR/R, SPC, Capability analysis, DOE, etc.). Interface with Design Engineering, Product Development, Process Engineering, and Tool Room Departments to improve output, efficiency, and quality of products. Work to the overall company metrics of cost, quality and delivery, and how these relate to the customer. Improve the development process through lessons learned from internal and external customers

Requirements: Process Development Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- Experience in the conceptualization, installation, development, and troubleshooting of semi-automatic and automatic equipment
Other Skills:
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- Ability to multi-task
- Knowledge and programming knowledge of control systems (PLC and sensors preferred)
- Minitab and CAD software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of quality and statistical analysis (required)
