Description: Our client is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst. The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst's role is to design and implement BI software and systems including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting tools, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling-out BI solutions to end users. The Business Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for providing BI support and ensuring high levels of availability in the BI environment.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Create functional and technical specifications for new project and enhancement requests
- Implement and maintain a BI tools environment that meets business requirements for corporate data analysis and reporting
- Create BI dashboards, reports, and portal from multi-vendor tools platform and integrating multiple data sources
- Design and implement system improvements, configuration changes, testing patches, and upgrades
- Modify applications to support business BI requirements
- Recognize the interactions and potential conflicts between our technologies and platforms and other aspects of the IT environment
- Provide Business Intelligence support including diagnosing and resolving complex problems
- Provide end user support including developing and delivering BI tools training
- Maintain a solid working knowledge of Business Intelligence Industry trends and best practices as they relate to major technologies, programs, projects, departments, and IT function
- Create short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall BI management roadmap
- Assist the Data Architect and BI Architect with corporate Business Intelligence Strategies
- Liaise with vendors and service providers to select the products or services that best meet company goals

Requirements: Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or comparable field
- 5+ years of application development experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in business intelligence / data management
- Strong analytic, problem-solving, and business acumen
- In-depth experience in Business Intelligence, data reporting, and analytic tools
- Proven design, development, and implementation experience
- Possess the ability to take on projects and tasks with little direction
- Apply good judgment on decision-making skills
- Knowledge of data warehouse technology
- Business Intelligence tools expertise in Business Objects is required (QlikView and Hyperion platform experience is a plus)
- Data Modeling, ETL tools (Informatica, Business Objects, and SSIS), Databases including Oracle and MS SQL Server as well as Third Party application integration and configuration
- .NET framework including ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET, and Web Services
- Strong written and oral communication skills (to target a wide variety of audiences including other developers as well as business partners and management)
- Ability to meet challenging deliverable deadlines and multi-task in support of multiple assignments as required
- Ability to appropriately identify, take ownership, and focus on highest priority tasks; and present ideas in user-friendly language
