Description:  A world class bank in NYC seeks a Manager or VP for an FX Product Controller. This individual will be responsible for the oversight and production of the daily P/L including attribution, for all FX trading strategies including, but not limited to reviewing P/L commentary, attribution, and all associated adjustments. This individual will also be responsible for reviewing material changes to the balance sheet at the strategy level and be responsible for ensuring substantiation of the balance sheet at month's end. It is imperative that this individual have strong interpersonal skills and is able to work effectively with our key clients including the business unit, market risk, operations, IT, and a variety of other finance groups. This individual should also be familiar with standard month-end General Ledger close-out processes and be willing and able to take on and prioritize numerous ad hoc projects. Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage and review Daily P/L and P/L attribution for all FX trading strategies
  • Manage and review daily commentary on P/L movements including analyzing P/L attribution to ensure key drivers are in line with expectations given risk the business is running
  • Oversee and review the month-end P/L close-out process
  • Review reconciliations completed by staff, resolve issues, and escalate key items to management
  • Oversee balance sheet substantiation for all strategies and review material changes on a daily basis with the balance sheet reporting team
  • Deal with Accounting Policy issues including, but not limited to any issues with respect to FIN45, FAS157, and FIN46/FAS140
  • Manage a staff of 3-4 Controllers producing a daily P/L
  • Global interaction with teams in London / Asia offices
  • Daily interaction with the trading desk, IT, Market Risk, Operations, and other key finance groups (Accounting Policy and Management Reporting)
Requirements:  The optimal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with a minimum 5+ years of FX product control experience. This person needs to be proficient in MS Excel (V-Lookups / pivot tables) and be able to easily assimilate with various front-end / finance IT systems. Working knowledge of Access will be a plus.
