Description:  The Business Analyst, as a member of the Analysis and Design Team, plays a key role in product development projects. The main purpose of this role is to produce product requirements and functional specifications that satisfy articulated Business requirements and strategic objectives, are consistent with technical architecture, and meet the needs of external and internal customers (Product Management, Quality Assurance, Development, Documentation, etc.). Requirements:  To meet this need, the Business Analyst will have a working knowledge of the software development lifecycle, strong analytical skills and techniques and must also possess strong problem solving skills as well as the ability to foster teamwork both within the Business Analyst Team and across Client functions. The Business Analyst will develop an in-depth knowledge of Client's product set, both from a functional and high-level architectural perspective, and will provide subject-matter-expertise to others in the organization. The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
  • 5 years of Business Analysis/Solution Design experience
  • Expertise in User Interface Design and Specifications with excellent knowledge of interface design processes, standards, and best practices for web distributed applications
  • Expertise in MS VISIO
  • Experience in a software product development environment, specifically with Scope definition, requirements gathering, and functional Design documentation
  • Understanding of the principles of the software development cycle
  • Knowledge of Institutional trade processing (including Electronic Trade Confirmation, Matching, Straight Through Processing (STP), and current industry initiatives)
  • Experience with standing settlements and account based instructions
  • Familiarity with User Interface concepts
  • Familiarity with project management principles
  • Experience with Sell Side (Broker) and Buy Side (IM) back office post trade processing as well as Custodian banks' settlement processing needs
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Must be a team player
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, planning, and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be able to interact with both Business (client facing) and technical disciplines
