Title:  Senior Financial Analyst

Description:  Our client, a premier insurance company is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for the delivery of financial planning and analysis functions for the pillars. Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Production and analysis of schedules for the budget and planning process for the pillar in conjunction with Group requirements
  • Production and analysis of timely and accurate management reporting
  • Production of Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Planning and Budgeting deliverables (timely, orderly execution are critical inclusive of re-forecast process)
  • Perform a detailed expense management and analysis process (monitor, manage, and advise clients of issues)
  • Production of formal written communications for business partners in a timely and accurate manner
  • Serve as subject matter expert for a specific finance objective (capital management, planning / budgeting, rating agencies, regulators, and modeling techniques)
  • Support the Management Team on capital, rating agency, and regulatory requirements
  • Pro-actively assist peers on ad hoc requests of the Financial Planning and Analysis Team
  • Demonstrate systems expertise for technology as used in financial analysis and train others
  • Coach and train new hires and Analysts
  • Supervise day to day adherence to deadlines and quality of work product
  • Provide technical supervision on specific programs or projects ensuring that the overall output and quality of service provided is within specified levels
Requirements:  Required Education and/or Experience:
  • Finance / Accounting Degree
  • CPA or MBA
  • 3 or more years relevant industry experience
  • Quantitative analysis and requisite software skills
  • Project management
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing a small team
Job Related Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of financial models
  • Quantitative analysis
  • Microsoft Office expert
  • Expert in PeopleSoft or Oracle applications
  • Knowledge of the property and casualty industry
  • Understanding of rating and regulatory modeling techniques
