Description: A major client, located in New York City, is seeking a Microsoft Systems Engineer. The Systems Engineer will report to the Director of the National Systems practice. This newly emerging practice has broad visibility and excellent opportunities for exposure to new and emerging technologies and growth within the industry. This position is best suited for the person who has outstanding engineering abilities and thrives on new challenges. He or she has well-developed customer service and problem solving skills.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Build, deploy, and secure Microsoft and VMWare centric solutions for customers ranging in size from 100 people in one office through 100,000 people throughout the world
- Apply current knowledge and experience to understand business challenges and identify opportunities to implement new and innovative approaches to technical solutions
- Lead projects and project teams comprised of customers, partners, and peers from project inception through the hand-off to operations
- Bridge the gap between business requirements and technology to develop the right technical solutions for that opportunity
- Practitioner of disciplined execution focused on formulating solid vision, strategy, goals, and requirements collaboratively with customers and partners to ensure the right approach to a well defined opportunity

Requirements: The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
- 5+ years of related experience
- Must be able to build and implement a Microsoft Infrastructure Solutions (and related applications) including Active Directory, Exchange Server, and SharePoint
- Broad exposure to Microsoft Server products is preferred
- The most desired candidates will have some experience with the following products: Windows Server 2000/2008; Windows XP/ Vista; Exchange 2003 / 2007; Systems Management Server and/or Microsoft System Center; SQL Server 2005 / 2008 and Enterprise Disaster Recovery
- Must demonstrate solid security fundamentals within build, implementation, and management of any solution and be able to articulate the value and reasons security is core to any solution
- Consulting experience and solid consulting skills are required including technical writing and verbal (presentation) skills
- Traditional networking, infrastructure, and Enterprise Desktop management also is preferred
- A successful candidate must have a strong desire to work hard, improve their skills, and broaden the scope of their knowledge
- Candidates must be a strong team player recognizing personal improvement often results from your efforts to make those around you star performers
- Tenacious and expeditious problem solving skills
- Advanced skills in one or more of the following areas: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server; NetApp or other SAN/NAS solutions
- HP or IBM Servers including Blades
- VMWare or Windows Hyper-V in an Enterprise deployment
- Cisco networking
- A College Degree and industry Certifications including MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, ITIL, and others are a plus
