| Description: We are seeking an experienced Web Services Software Engineer within S&P's Risk Solutions business unit. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to analyze, design, and implement complex software to support credit risk products. The successful candidate will need to bring an engineering mindset backed by industry experience that reflects repeated full systems lifecycle experience on complex financial/capital markets systems.

Requirements: In addition to the qualifications mentioned, candidates must possess the following requirements:
- 3 - 5 years of recent Web Services (server and client) design, development, and deployment experience using Apache (axis2) tools in a J2EE technical environment
- Proficient with Oracle SQL development and at least one scripting language, e.g., Korn Shell
- Strong design, implementation, and debugging skills in J2EE development working on complex systems ideally in a financial or capital markets environment
- Experience with JBoss or WebLogic application servers
- Strong proficiency in open source development on a Windows and Linux platform using tools such as Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, CVS or Subversion, Ant, Maven, JUnit, JBoss, etc.
- Strong interaction skills and excellent communications (verbal and written)
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently with the ability to perform well under stress to deliver on committed timelines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience; MS degree in Computer Science is highly desirable
