Description: A major client, located in New York City, is seeking a Network Engineer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and support networks for clients in the tri-state metropolitan area
- Ensure client environments are operational and available on a 24/7 basis
- Document client network systems, configurations, and operational instructions
- Support and monitor the customer T1 connection to the Internet
- Develop a Scope of Work and Bill of Materials for recommending new and upgraded software/hardware solutions

Requirements: The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of related experience
- Extensive knowledge in LAN's, WAN's, and network security
- Wireless LAN experience is a plus
- Cisco IOS experience
- Expertise in Windows hardware/software troubleshooting techniques and enterprise infrastructure support
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Client oriented and service minded
- Excellent problem solving skills
- A team player with a collaborative personality
- Good project management and time management skills
- A self starter
- Overall working knowledge of system architecture, redundancy and fault tolerance, databases, personal computer hardware, local area networks, wireless networking, SAN's, IP Voice Solutions, and cabling topologies
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and work during unusual hours
Skills:
- Servers: Solaris, NT/2000/2003 Servers, Novell Netware, and Linux
- Networks: Cisco (Catalyst, LD, PIX, VOIP, wireless), Proxim external and internal wireless products, Airspace internal wireless products, knowledge of other general network products
- Good understanding of SAN Solutions (Datacore, HP, IBM)
- Software: Cisco IOS, Checkpoint NG, Exchange, Back Exec, Arcserver, Sybari, Webtrends, Websense, and SMTP
- Databases: MSSQL, MySQL, and Oracle
- Certifications: CCDA, CCNP, and MSCE
