Title:  Access/Excel/VBA/SQL Fixed Income Developer

Description:  This person will serve as a Database Developer for the Fixed Income Asset Management Group working with financial data and designing and developing database platforms to support investment portfolio management process. This person will utilize VBA, SQL, and SDKs to extract data from various sources including PAM, Bloomberg, Yield Book, Access, and others into databases and Excel models. Duties:
  • Use Microsoft Excel/Access/VBA to maintain current analytical models and assist in the development of new portfolio management tools
  • Ad hoc SQL reporting projects integrating data from varied sources including PAM, Yield Book, Bloomberg, and other internal and external sources
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal database platforms to handle reporting and data analysis including the integration of internal and external data sources
  • Extract data from various sources including PAM investment software, Bloomberg, Online databases, internal Excel worksheets, databases, and other sources
  • Work with Investment Accounting and AAM Administration to ensure the validity and integrity of data in the internal accounting system (PAM)
  • Create efficiencies in existing processes using automation
  • Perform data integrity checks as well as clean-up of data in existing systems including PAM, Yield Book, Bloomberg, and proprietary databases
  • Prepare portfolio management reports
  • Work with changing priorities and find creative ways to provide solutions
Requirements:  The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include (items are required unless noted otherwise):
  • Advanced Microsoft Access and Excel skills including experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • Knowledge of SQL based database platforms and previous database development experience in SQL Server and/or Oracle
  • An understanding of Investments, Fixed Income, Financial Accounting, or Investment Accounting; and be able to interface with non-technical financial professionals
  • Knowledge of PAM or investment accounting systems would be helpful
  • Knowledge of Yield Book or any other portfolio analytics tool is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of fixed income or financial markets is helpful
  • SQL Server or other database development experience would be beneficial
  • B.A. / B.S. Degree
  • A degree in IS, Computer Science, Finance, or Math (preferred)
  • 3-6+ years of relevant experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
