Title:  Payroll Tax Analyst
Location:  New Britain, CT

Compensation:  $30.00 to $35.00 per Hour

Description:  Our client is seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst. The responsibilities of this position include the following:
  • Primary responsibility includes all tasks associated with U.S. and Canadian Payroll tax, both at the company level as well as the employee level, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local withholding, unemployment and information reporting requirements
  • Independently work with the Payroll vendor's tax filing service to ensure timeliness and accuracy of filings, as well as assist in issue resolution
  • Preparation and filing of specific returns not administered by the Payroll tax filing provider
  • Responsible for addressing tax issues associated with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, company name changes, FEIN changes
  • Identify potential Payroll tax exposure and related financial risks, communicate these risks to Management, and direct the final disposition of related Payroll tax items
  • Oversee Payroll tax income tax withholding and unemployment registration process
  • Serve as liaison with other departments in the determination of Payroll tax impact in relation to human resources, Payroll or executive compensation policies or programs and resolution of related Payroll tax issues
  • Drive change in the Payroll tax function to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the Payroll tax function
  • Responsible for taxation and transaction data entry for all relocation, expatriates, inpatriates, MICP, LTIP, non-qualified stock options, disqualified disposition of stock, deferred long term stock, supplemental account value plan, Weichert quarterly relocation compensation, quarterly dividends, deferred compensation, hypo tax, and function as liaison with the HR/Benefits and Treasury departments for said items
  • Review various Payroll reports for accuracy, adjustments/corrections, reconciliation. Work with Finance on reconciliation of bank/general ledger entries
  • Review and reconcile total tax liabilities by entity and tax debits by Ceridian Tax Services
