Title:  Java Programmer Analyst
Location:  Arlington, VA

Compensation:  $85,000.00 to $125,000.00 per Year

Description:  This person will support activities for newly developed applications, fixes, and enhancements. This role applies software development techniques, theories and concepts; contributes to the development of new applications and utilities; and supports the FDIC ITAS O/M operations and small enhancements. This role builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as C++, visual basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, etc.; provides patches and upgrades to existing systems; and may design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. This person prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. This person may build add-on modules using application program language.
Requirements:  Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
Required skills:
  • Strong programming expertise in Java, J2EE (EJBs, servlets, JSP, struts) and XML technologies
  • Hands on experience publishing and consuming WebServices
  • Exposure to any SOA Infrastructure (ESB) implementation and/or BPEL would be preferred
  • Implemented solutions for high traffic data systems
  • Hands on expertise with enterprise messaging using EAI and JMS
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle
  • MySQL will be a plus. This would include designing schemas, writing DML queries and query performance analysis
  • Should have a strong UNIX background
  • Also needs to be comfortable writing Unix scripts
  • Perl will be a plus
  • Should be able to performance tune applications and assist team members by reviewing code and provide suggestions to developers
Desired skills:
  • 5-7 years of experience with the following software applications and process methodologies VB, ASP, .NET, SQL, Oracle, Starteam, RUP, CMMI, ITIL, prior experience with FDIC applications and operations
