| Description: This person will support operation and maintenance activities for the FDIC Strategic Resources Management Line of Business which consists of 68 Business applications. Support enhancements and fixes in a 24X7 production support environment using; MS-Visual Basic for Applications, MS-Visual C++, Java/J2EE and other technologies as required. This person will perform operational monitoring of applications and conduct capacity Management evaluations on a daily basis; performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. This person ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints; performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Requirements: Minimum Requirement:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree
- Considered career, or journey, level
- Must possess a string understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the Rational Unified Process (RUP)
- Must have 4-6 years of experience using the following development technologies; MS-Visual Basic for Applications, MS-Visual C++, Java/J2EE and Active Server Pages (ASP).
- Candidates must be able to work on multiple projects at once
- Must be able to provide extra effort when required by projects
- Must be very self managed
- Must be able to perform requirements analysis, scope definition, technical design, and create test scripts
Desired skills:
- Proven design, development and deployment abilities in J2EE systems development
- Recent experience in systems management and engineering
- Recent Development, QA and Production release experience using ANT, AntHill Pro, Cruise Control, Star Team and PERL
- Experience using scripting tools such as Korn Shell
- Experience working with Sun Solaris 9/10 and Oracle DBMS 9/10
- Knowledge of CMM/CMMI software engineering process
- Knowledge of ITIL and Definitive Software Libraries (DSL)
- Demonstrated leadership ability with an emphasis on quality and a sense of urgency
- Highly motivated, experienced, resourceful and efficient developer
- Ability to work well in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills
- Learns quickly and develops creative solutions
