Description: The Storage Engineer is to provide expert advice and counsel to users, management and IT project teams for systems of the most complex nature (typically crossing function/location lines). Evaluate new technologies and develops departmental standard practices. Identify or react to problems related to the technology infrastructure or in support of the software development process. Demonstrate a broad knowledge level across multiple areas of information technology and be involved as a key team member on strategic or enterprise-wide technology issues.
Specific Functions:
- Manage the implementation of Enterprise storage across multiple platforms
- Engineers in this role serve as a liaison between Operations, Infrastructure, and Application Development regarding the implementation and maintenance of Storage
- Evolve existing problems management processes to effect support of storage for development and production environments
- Monitor log files, performance issues, and the production environment for mission critical systems
- Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Needs to have a good understanding and experience of server and client side architectures
- Should have an understanding of current industry trends and their advantages with the ability to right fit into an existing environment
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Understand requested changes to storage, its configuration, and implications to all user areas
Qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications/skill sets:
- Responsibility for providing comprehensive support for implementation and 3rd-level support of all storage-based applications for all of our client's systems
- Work with host groups to design storage and back-up infrastructures that satisfy business requirements

Requirements: Storage Engineer Qualifications:
- 5+ years of storage management or related experience overall (2+ years of storage analysis and design coupled with 3+ years of storage administration or engineering)
Required Education:
- BS / BA Degree (education may be substituted for increased years in experience on a year-for-year basis)
