Description:  Our client is seeking a Tech Writer. This position intends to fill a tech writer role for Business Technology Infrastructure under the Process Standardization Team. The selected candidate will create/update/migrate IT solutions with assistance and direction from the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The candidate will have a working knowledge of the IT environment in order to fully understand the content requirements and ask the right questions to result in quality documentation which will be entered into appropriate repositories (knowledge base, controlled document repositories, etc.). This individual works under the direction of the project leads and project manager. Duties:
  • Create and document processes, procedures and work instructions
  • Update existing processes, procedures and work instructions
  • Assist with documentation of operating procedures and the continuous improvement of processes and procedures
  • Create communications for the team as well as audiences outside of the team
  • Tracks and reports progress
  • Works independently and with project team members to ensure task-level plans are completed and executed on track
  • Assist with project team meetings and sub-meetings
  • Create meeting minutes
  • Update Actions log
Requirements:  Requirements Include:
  • Minimum: 4-year degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical training
  • Other: ITIL Foundation v3 certification
The successful candidate will have:
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in IT and program/project management
  • Basic knowledge of hardware, system software, networking, and storage technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills (writing sample required)
  • Strong organization skills
  • Self Starter and motivated to own the responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work with geographically distributed SMEs, as well as the ability to operate in a politically sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interact comfortably with all levels of management and colleagues
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
