Description: Our client is seeking a Java Application Development Manager.
Functions:
- Supervise, develop, and lead a small Java Programming Team
- Work as a Project Manager for Java Application Development projects
- Be involved with some hands-on programming as part of the job duties
- The right candidate is very team oriented, has a solid leadership background, has project management experience, and enjoys helping other staff members grow to be successful

Requirements: Java Application Development Management Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of Application Development staff supervision experience including hire / fire experience, performance reviews, staff development, project leadership, and mentoring of junior staff members
- Must be focused on hitting project deadlines
- Must be able to give and receive constructive criticism when necessary
- Must be someone that can be an enabler and problem solver for the team they lead
- Must be someone that takes a mentoring approach with junior staff members
- Strong Java Development / Programming skills and background (required)
- SQL back-end database experience (MS SQL Server, Oracle, or Informix)
- Must be someone that can bridge Technical Leadership with Staff Leadership and Development
- This position requires strong Java programming skills and a strong understanding of formal project management as well as experience with the full software development life cycle (SDLC)
- This position involves performing systems analysis, Application design, Application development, project leadership, and formal team leadership
- Financial or insurance industry experience is considered a plus
- Education - 4 year Degree is required
Desired Programming Skills Include:
- Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, XML, XSLT, and Web Services
- Experience with a variety of business Applications including - Financial, CRM, Web-based systems, batch processing and other back end systems, etc.
