Title:  Manager of Finance and Revenue

Description:  This person will manage Revenue, Sales Cycle activities, Receivables, and General Accounting activities for a public software company. This is a highly visible role reporting to the Revenue Director and is responsible for all aspects of the revenue cycle. This person will manage a staff of 4-5 providing motivation, goals for career development, and daily guidance with shifting priorities. Candidates must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. This Revenue Manager will be expected to address contract and related revenue recognition questions from internal departments, staff, management, and auditors. Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage the processing of all U.S. contracts and ensure revenue recognition is in strict compliance with GAAP, SOP 97-2 and company policy
  • Supervise daily operations and monthly close functions of revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable
  • Perform monthly review of revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable
  • Execute the integration of new business units into core processes
  • Work closely with sales and services on contract status
  • Prepare and review portions of quarterly audit package including analysis, account reconciliations, schedules, etc.
  • Document and maintain processes for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Define requirements for sales order input to Oracle Projects
Requirements:  A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required; an MBA or CPA is a plus. A minimum 5 years of revenue experience is required. Public company experience is preferred. Candidates must have strong knowledge of software revenue recognition accounting and GAAP for accounts receivable. Intermediate or above Excel skills are required. Oracle experience is strongly preferred.
