Description: A large international manufacturing company located in Metro Atlanta is looking for a Sr. Tax Manager to work closely with the Controller's group, and financial reporting staff of the worldwide operations to compile and analyze data to efficiently and accurately compute tax provisions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of external tax accounting for the company, under the direction of the Corp. Director of Tax Accounting
- Ensure the company is in compliance with all GAAP and SEC filing requirements. Requires a deep working knowledge of highly technical FAS 109, FIN 18, and FIN 48 issues
- Ensure the company is in compliance with all tax accounting controls and documentation requirements for SOX
- Manage input and maintenance of deferred tax schedules, FIN 48 analysis, footnote disclosures, and return to provision reconciliations for a worldwide group
- Tax background must translate into the ability to address federal, state, and foreign taxation issues and understand tax planning strategies so they can be properly reflected in the tax provision
- Expected as a team member in upcoming tax accounting re-engineering process and potential software implementation
- Represent and defend the company's tax accounting positions with its external financial auditors
- Expected as a team member in upcoming IFRS conversion
- Supervise, train, and develop staff
- Interface with the outside service provider to ensure a proper transition as we in-source the tax provision process

Requirements: Requirements Include:
- Knowledge of Canadian tax law is a plus but not required
- FAS 109 is a must
- Hyperion software is a plus
- CPA and/or MST is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, communication skills, and negotiation skills. Must have ability to network within the company and make sure tax accounting function is properly represented, and also have ability to articulate complex tax accounting issues to a varied audience (tax and non-tax)
