Description: The Global Controller role is critically important as that leader owns safeguarding assets, maintaining all accounting records, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the global controllership program, and acting as the technical accounting expert across an extremely complex environment consisting of 60+ locations and spanning multiple product lines. This leader will report directly to the VP, Finance, with a dotted reporting line to the VP/Controller.
Key role responsibilities are as follows:
- Own development, implementation, and ongoing responsibility for the new global controllership program, including descriptions, policies, tool templates, and training materials for the following control mechanisms: account reconciliations, B/S reviews, site controllership and compliance questionnaires/assessments, site risk matrix, internal/external audit, region/business unit controls scorecard, and SOX compliance
- Provide leadership to global business team regarding all technical accounting questions, as well as update global finance leadership team on changes/updates to critical accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain close relationships with all existing shared-service centers and proactively review performance to ensure operational improvements in-line with expectations
- Partner with VP, Finance to look for additional opportunities to drive efficiencies across current financial processes, to outsource more work to existing locations and to create new locations in regions where none exist today
- Review the internals accounting controls of the division to ensure compliance with corporate, SEC and regulatory policies and procedures
- Challenge existing processes to ensure compliance with all laws, statutes, and principles
- Maintain all accounting records, prepare financial reports, and interact with the business or corporate financial functions
- Ensure that all financial reports are prepared

Requirements: The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
- CPA Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related education
- 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably with 7 years of prior management experience
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of GAAP are essential
- Understanding of applicable systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, etc.
- Effective managerial skills
- Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills
- Well-developed leadership and project management skills
- Driven process improvements and change management (in turnaround situations is a plus)
- Global experience with strategic mindset
- True business partner with large company/firm experience
- Strong leader with excellent analytical abilities and high energy
- Local only (not offering relocation)
Preferred:
- Green Belt
- Experience in utilizing Oracle as ERP
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Retail/manufacturing industry experience
- Big Plus: experience creating or implementing a Controllership program (a global program is another plus)
