Description:  The Commercial Finance Director is an important role providing finance leadership and direction for the global RIS business. This leader will report directly to the RIS VP, Finance, but acts as a key partner to the Marketing/Product Management, Sales and Innovation teams. Key role responsibilities are as follows:
  • Lead commercial finance planning process for AOP, strat plan, monthly/quarterly reporting for all related commercial finance metrics including price, rebates, discounts/allowances, overall accounts receivable, sales and marketing cost budgets, etc
  • Responsible for Global RIS (IBMD, PSD and FSD) orders and sales results vs. budget, forecast and prior year as global business progresses through weeks, months, quarters and years, including providing detailed results analysis to RIS leadership
  • Ownership of economic trends and competitive/market analysis to proactively educate business leadership and allow business to stay ahead of the curve
  • Provide leadership and active support for all global credit and collections processes
  • Actively participate in the weekly pricing sub-committee and support RIS VP, Finance to drive agenda items to closure
  • Support variable compensation execution by owning methodology, tactics and accounting
  • Partner with multiple RIS leaders to drive the successful implementation of Strategy 1 (global common business process + leading edge IT), Strategy 3 (innovation driven by market insights) and Strategy 4 (strategic selling, customer segmentation and price) from the RIS OGSM, thus leveraging our scale to transform IBMD into a global market leader with unmatched customer loyalty
  • Own the global (bi-weekly) Accounts Receivable war room to improve past-dues and aging, as well as the project deck to drive overall improvements regarding credit card processing, term improvements, data integrity, past due reason code analysis, etc
  • Actively deploy ELS
Requirements:  The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
  • A BS in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experience and ability leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership ability
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial issues
  • Experience working in a global business environment
  • Previous experience partnering with Marketing, Product Management, Sales and Innovation teams (owning all analytics for strategic selling, customer segmentation, pricing, etc.)
  • Experience working with variable compensation and AR
  • Previous commercial finance, credit and working capital management experience
Desired:
  • Understanding of financial compliance, GAP, SOX certification
  • Experience working with Oracle financial systems
  • Greenbelt certified or deployment of lean principles is a plus
  • MBA
  • Manufacturing, retail financial large organization experience
