Description: Our client is seeking a Director of Revenue.
The responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Directs the strategy, goals and objectives for the patient admitting and registration functions, maintenance of and collection of patient accounts receivables, patient cash collections, revenue cycle improvements and compliantly maximizes reimbursement from third party sources, where possible
- Through subordinate managers and Directors, directs all operations, information systems, processes, staff and improvements
- Develops departmental policies and procedures and effective internal controls
- Manage and reduce payor billing denials and support customer service for patients and colleagues
- Ensures procedures for follow-up on third party approvals, billing, and collection on all overdue, denied or incomplete accounts
- Directs the Admitting, Outpatient Registration and pre-Registration functions, in the assurance of accurate, timely and comprehensive data collection from patients, families, referring physicians and payors to support billing
- Ensures all inpatient and outpatient denials are investigated, relevant data is collected and corrected and cases are challenged in a timely manner
- Ensures that actual collection time span is consistent with established accounts receivable days and cash collection goals
- Ensures that quality and performance standards are met and third party payer and governmental agency billing and documentation requirements are compliantly adhered to
- Ensures the most efficient utilization of patient account applications software
- Directs the efforts of revenue enhancement through validation of accurate and complete payor billings and collection
- Manages to and achieves departmental operating budget objectives
- Assures compliance with all accreditation and regulatory agencies including JCAHO standards, through documentation consistent with scoring guidelines

Requirements: Director of Revenue Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- MBA (preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive related health care/patient Finance experience
- 4+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong system skills (required)
- Requires the ability to effectively manage patient Finance operations in a large health care system
- Expert knowledge of third party Payor requirements and government regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
- Excellent planning, management, and communication skills
- Capable of presenting ideas in a clear and compelling manner
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
