| Description: Our Cleveland area client is actively seeking a LAN/WAN Engineer to support their Cisco environment for a long term contract with possibility for hire. This person will bring LAN/WAN engineering expertise to assist the Client in achieving short term and long term expectations and goals. Requirements: The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
- 3+ years of IT experience in supporting a Cisco LAN and WAN environment
- A thorough and in-depth understanding of TCP/IP and Subnetting
- General awareness and appreciation of a global Microsoft environment
- Working knowledge of Cisco Switch IOS commands
- Ability to create VLANS and Trunk ports
- Ability to implement QoS settings
- Working knowledge of Cisco Router commands
- Ability to trouble shoot WAN issues in a mixed VPN, Private Line and IP enabled frame environment
- Familiar with BGP and EIGRP routing protocols
- Working knowledge of ACLs
- Knowledgeable using Cisco Access Points in a layer 2 and controller environment
- Experience configuring a Cisco ASA device
- Familiar with using a Netscout Sniffer is a plus
- Experience with Avaya VOIP installations is not necessary but a definite plus
- Good communication and listening skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Must be a self starter and be able to use a high degree of initiative
