Description: The Business Intelligence (BI) Architect is involved in all aspects of the delivery of Business Intelligence solutions and related components; system architecture, solution performance, interfaces, and HW/SW configurations. This person must be experienced in designing, developing and implementing complex Business Intelligence solutions across multiple environments (Teradata, Microsoft, Hyperion, and Business Objects). This person partners with business to understand their challenges and translate them into requirements; and collaborates with SW engineers to ensure the creation of production solutions which address quality, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity. This person must be self motivated and results-oriented with strong data warehouse and business intelligence architecture skills.
The BI Architect is responsible for:
- Creation and implementation of data warehouse/ BI solution architecture
- Provide HW/SW oversight (selection, sizing, configuration recommendation and execution)
- Ensure the long term reliability, scalability, availability, integrity and maintainability for a large scale, multi-application enterprise data warehouse
- Active role in data architecture, tools, processes, project assessment and development process design
- Define best practices in the critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components
- Provide technical overviews and BI tool demonstrations to BI Power Users
- Diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues via performance tuning/optimization

Requirements: Basic Requirements:
- Proven success as a BI Architect (5+ years) at a multi-terabyte DW environment
- Experience (5+ years) with data integration and BI/reporting tools
- 3-5 years with hands on ETL tools, data staging techniques, metadata tools, and data base designs
- Proactive, great attention to detail, and results-oriented problem solver
- Ability to deal with long term goals along with immediate performance concerns
- Strong leadership with the ability to motivate and teach engineers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate highly complex technical issues to non-technical audience
- A BA / BS Degree and 10+ years of experience in Information Technology
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Teradata MPP release 12 running on Linux and MPRAS environments
- 3-5 years of experience in Teradata data architecture and Teradata data model
- Teradata Certified Professional
- Experience with the Microsoft BI Tool Suite (SQL Server 2005/2008, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Performance Point, and MOSS)
- Experience with Business Objects XI
- Experience with Hyperion HFM
