Title:  SEC Reporting Accountant
Location:  Boston, MA

Compensation:  $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per Year

Description:  Our client is seeking a SEC Reporting Accountant. The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to: Closing Process:
  • Assist in planning, reviewing, and preparing with the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidations of the Company's financial statements
  • Resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Perform analyses of operating results and the financial strength of the consolidated financial statements of the Company
  • Pursue the continuous improvement of the corporation's closing process
Reporting Process:
  • Assist with the planning, preparation and issuance of quarterly and annual reports (10-Q, 10-K, Annual Report, etc.) to be filed with the SECurities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
  • Support the external audit of the Companys financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis, including making recommendations for improvement
Other:
  • Assist with the research and documentation of the Companys accounting policies and procedures, and the implementation of these policies
  • Assist in evaluating compliance with the Companys accounting policies and internal controls, and implementing improvement where possible
  • Assure compliance with SEC Reporting requirements and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare reports to senior management of consolidated results and evaluate results of individual business performance and its implications on the Corporation
  • Work closely with businesses and corporate departments on a variety of accounting, control, and financial issues
  • Identify value-added opportunities to better serve the businesses and senior management, including identifying opportunities and making recommendations for improvement
  • Undertake special projects as requested by Supervisor (i.e., researching newly issued Accounting Standards, assist with the implementation of the Companys global ERP system, ad hoc and financial analysis, systems upgrades, etc.)
Requirements:  The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
  • CPA (or relevant experience) with two to five years of experience, including SEC reporting experience
  • BS degree in Business or related subject area
