Description: Our client is seeking a Senior System Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for the engineering, implementation and support of the windows domains, active directory, email, servers, backups and SAN. Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
The responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Designs, installs, maintains, and configures hardware (e.g. Servers, SAN switches and drives, cabling) and software (e.g. Windows 2003, exchange 2003, security systems, etc.) to ensure network is running at optimal performance levels
- Monitor hardware and software to ensure optimal performance
- Assists in the development and maintenance of the IT Disaster Recovery Plan by being an active participant in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Develop and maintain working relationships with project sponsors and keys users of IT services. Participate with business units in the analysis of projects and systems that utilize the data network
- Supports and participates in negotiations with potential vendors and customers
- Using project management methodologies, manage network related projects including negotiating scope changes, cost and time changes with business sponsor
- Act as technical expertise on project team
- Assist with the preparation and management of operations budgets
- Participate in the establishment of department goals and the implementation of policies, procedures and performance standards to achieve those goals
- Provides technical assistance to IT support staff and management

Requirements: The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal communication and the ability to participate in a team or project with other members. Candidates must have 5 or more years of experience with windows domains, active directory and servers.
