Description: Responsibilities for this role include performing the following duties:
- Serves as the highest level technical expert in solution architecture for software development / infrastructure teams at the program level
- Develops and drives short and long term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio for key business segments
- Develops technical strategy for the program
- Acts as key technical contact point for all architecture decisions within a given program and ensures the appropriate level of architecture reviews are conducted
- Advises teams of standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes
- Acts as SME in the plan and design of new solutions
- Uses a broad and deep understanding of technical concepts in multiple specialized fields to develop solutions to problems and critical design issues
- Works independently and will likely supervise the work of others
- Manages relationships with suppliers/vendors
- Develops and drives the short and long term architecture strategy for key business segments; focus is beyond specific projects addressing cross project needs and future program direction
- Supports the development of architecture principles, styles, patterns and standards for systems across the Business Unit, translating corporate strategy into technical strategy
- Review legacy architecture and identify components strategically aligned for re-architecture
Work assignments are typically focused on critical projects for the organization.

Requirements: The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- Extensive experience delivering IT solutions
- Broad architecture background, development experience, and solid understanding of patterns and frameworks
- Expert knowledge of the software development process and how it fits within the IT architecture and infrastructure
- Practical experience leveraging agile and iterative life-cycle methods for solutions development
- Thorough knowledge of Structured Methodology Architecture and Design Process
- Practical experience in developing systems using the (Rational) Unified Process including the use of UML
- Awareness and past experience in SDLC methodology SDP is a plus
- Knowledge in core technologies, including enterprise platforms, open standards, security frameworks, database, business intelligence, and integration technologies
- Expert knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs
- Ability to analyze, recognize, and anticipate problems (technical, operational, process, and organizational) and to identify the best solution in a timely manner
- Ability to review and analyze solutions and apply and industry best practices
- Assess architectural choices and the risks or trade-offs associated with those choices
- Relevant domain background for Financial Services Systems (e.g. Originations, Servicing, Risk Management, and Securitization)
- Technology skills: Portals, Security, J2EE, Database, Business Intelligence, and Service Oriented Architecture
