| Description: Kforce has a 'new temporary opportunity' in Boston for someone experienced with mutual funds / financial services!
We are currently searching for any candidates with hedge fund experience or fund accounting experience. Our client is a large financial services company with an office in Boston.
As a Fund Accountant, you will render accurate and timely accounting statements in compliance with customer expectations and departmental standards; review transactions on a daily basis (to ensure conformity to established policies and procedures); monitor cash and asset variances between the core systems and the accounting system on a daily basis, resolve discrepancies; monitor income activity; and ensure that all overdue items are resolved. You will communicate with service partners to ensure the timely resolution of all inquiries (internal and external); perform "buddy reviews" for other Accountants prior to rendering final portfolio valuations; assist with systems testing for any new releases or enhancements; and maintain a system of filing and account profiles to facilitate continuity during absences and periods of employee turnover. You will participate in various projects as assigned.
