Description:  Our client is seeking an Application and Solutions Architect. Kforce is seeking an Application and Solutions Architect for a local client. This person will provide enterprise support on assigned IT architecture initiatives. This person must be able to represent the IT Architecture team, with internal customers and external vendors. This person must be able work with virtual teams of architects and IT teams where needed. This person will also consult and deliver project artifacts for assigned projects, while ensuring quality in all deliverables. Candidates must be skilled in 3-4 of the following IT architecture areas, and want to become knowledgeable in all of them: Execution, Application, Development, Operations, Network, Security, and Integration Architectures.
Requirements:  As situations demand, this person must be able to succeed in unstructured environments, and where needed, understand how and when, to get help to ensure success for all. Candidates must have outstanding integrity, with a passion for quality, yet tempered with pragmatism. By pragmatism is meant, the successful individual must understand we are a service organization, and often meeting dates may require an incremental solution. Candidates must have the ability to talk easily and clearly communicate with technicians, business people, and other team members. If called upon, this person must be able to assist in solving, production problems, by possessing the collaboration and team skills needed. Candidates must be an excellent problem solver, and must be flexible where needed, yet strong when required. The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
  • 5+ years in an Architecture role, preferably in a large enterprise environment
Demonstrable skills would include:
  • Successful record in a large, complex, enterprise environment
  • Experience in applying architecture principles within an SDLC
  • Knowledge of technical functionality of a major DBMS such as Oracle or SQL Server
  • Knowledge of stress testing applications
  • Experience with documentation such as the concept of "system maps" detailing enterprise systems, including all inputs and outputs to each system
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
