Description:  Kforce is seeking an Enterprise Software Test Engineer with deep networking knowledge to be an integral part of the development team focusing on creating the enterprise-level data store for our digital pathology solution. In this position you will create the test strategy and perform the automated and manual testing for our diagnostic archive. You will test functionality in the areas of data acquisition, storage and retrieval, using black box and white box testing. You will have an opportunity to drive testability changes into the software and make important contributions to a product which will make a positive difference in people's lives.   • Work within our scrum environment, being an active participant in the planning and communication meetings inherent to scrum
  • Create test strategies which clearly communicate the approach used to assess the quality of a release
  • Perform hardware (SAN, NAS, RAID, load balancers, and network) and software testing
  • Test the complete system with an ability to isolate slow performance to the network, storage, or CPU
  • Work closely with developers to understand all facets of our product, including common workflows, data flow, and control flow
  • Write, execute, and maintain manual test cases which verify requirements
  • Create scripts and programs which automate regression, load, and stress testing
  • Participate in the risk assessment process, ensuring that risks are mitigated with test coverage where appropriate
Requirements:  Enterprise Test Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a commercial product development environment using Microsoft Windows
  • Must be familiar with Windows tools for analyzing CPU usage and network traffic
  • 2 years of scripting expertise with Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Perl, or other scripting language
  • 2 years of experience working with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and RAID
  • 2 years of experience working with networks with an ability to diagnose bottlenecks
  • 1 year of experience configuring and monitoring load balancers
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship. Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with load balancing and testing FDA regulated software systems
  • Experience with using the Rally sprint management tool
  • Experience using Visual Studio 2005 or 2008
  • Experience with SQL Server 2005 or 2008
  • Experience with database mirroring
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and outstanding problem solving skills
