Description: Our client is looking for a senior level resource to be considered for a permanent opportunity. This candidate needs to have experience with online/internet based production environments.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain and support database systems including system upgrades, new software releases, patch management, back-ups and replication, system administration, security management, vendor relations, and issue resolution in accordance with industry and company standards
- Provide technical insight and support in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of production systems hardware and software
- Provide support to application units including planning, design, development, budgeting, performance tuning, and issue resolution
- Prepare activity and status reports for active projects and systems as required
- Assist system administration staff with other activities as needed
- Maintain system documentation per specifications
- Provide on-call support as needed

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft SQL Database Systems in an enterprise level three tiered application environment
- Experience with Oracle will be a strong plus
Possess demonstrable expertise with many of the following technologies:
- Databases: SQL, Oracle and MySQL
- Tools: Red Gate, Oracle Warehouse Builder, IIS and Spotlight on SOL
- Languages: .NET, Java and ColdFusion
- Other: SQL clustering, SQL replication, ETL and BI tools
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to work well in a team atmosphere
