Description: Kforce has a Senior Engineer (PERM Position) available in Saint Petersburg, Florida!
Functions:
- Be responsible for solving major and complex engineering problems in one or more phases of a developmental project involving analysis, research, design, development, documentation, and testing of a software device or component * Conduct the development of each assignment; coordinating with engineering personnel assigned to each activity applicable to the particular assignment
- The position has some latitude for un-reviewed action or decision
- Assignments are broad in nature; usually requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity
- Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation

Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate complex devices, software and/or systems
- Conceive methods and alternatives for satisfying product goals, specifications, and requirements of the project / assignment
- Perform original complex analysis and design work of software, system, and component parts in accordance with specifications
- Design or select commercially available equipment and software
- Coordinate design results with other design groups
- Evaluate the merits of the design with higher skilled Engineers and make changes as indicated
- Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, components, or process specifications and requirements
- Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services

Requirements: Senior Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or equivalent technical discipline
- 2-5 years of experience (required)
Additional Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and Microsoft Office environment skills are required
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
- Technical skills such as C++ and Linux are required
- Knowledge of UML and version control systems is a plus
