Visitors are often surprised by everything Fort Worth has to offer: the Historic Stockyards, remarkable museums, a dazzling downtown area, Texas Motor Speedway, spectacular annual events, and a lot more. Kforce is seeking a Credentialed RHIA, RHIT, or CCS DRG Auditor for a client in the Ft. Worth area. Their system is 3M. This is a 40 hours a week (day-time opportunity)! Perform quality audits on inpatient and outpatient coding as requested and scheduled by each facility. Prepare reports of findings and identify trends, profiles, and patterns by the Coder; and provide this information to HIM Management as appropriate. Specific Functions:
  • Analyze, code, and abstract inpatient and outpatient medical records as required by each facility to back-fill for vacancies, illness, and volume increases
  • Review results of audits with Director / coding Manager and individual Coders
  • Work with the Director / coding Manager to reconcile coding audits and resolve coding issues
  • Work collaboratively with revenue cycle departments to ensure coding and edits are processed timely
  • Serve as a resource person for the Health Information Management Departments as well as other hospital departments by answering questions related to coding issues
  • Identify and code all pertinent co-morbid and complicating diagnoses utilizing the encoder
  • Identify and code all applicable procedures utilizing the encoder
  • Abstract required data into the coding and abstracting system and other systems utilized by each facility
  • Optimize DRG reimbursement by re-sequencing diagnoses when possible in accordance with coding guidelines
  • Serve as a professional role model to internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate leadership and management ability
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:  DRG Auditor Qualifications:
  • 2 years of DRG Auditor experience or 5 years of coding experience (acute care setting all service lines and CPT coding)
  • Strong acute care setting IP coding and CPT coding experience
  • Minimum IP productivity of 3.5/hr
  • Proven coding quality of 95% or greater
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills to interact with physicians and clinical departments
  • Modifier knowledge
  • CDM knowledge
  • Excel spreadsheet knowledge
  • Knowledge in 3M advanced analyzer (a plus)
