Description: This position will primarily support analysis, evaluation, selection, and implementation of a metadata repository for our client's data standards initiative. This involves creating and managing functional deliverables of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and coordinating with various IT and business stakeholders to define and implement a technology enabled solution that supports a global, standards-based, metadata-centric data lifecycle envisioned for the organization.
Functions:
- Attend business process review meetings with subject matter and/or technical experts and help guide them through streamlining processes to maximize business efficiency
- Document business processes using MS Visio and/or other modeling tools
- Document cases, requirements gathering, vendor evaluation and selection, functional design, testing, training, and reporting
- Gather and define functional, usability, reliability, and performance requirements in partnership with users
- Partner with project stakeholders to evaluate and select the appropriate Open Source and/or commercial off-the-shelf solutions including any commercial services that meet system requirements and the needs of the organization
- Work with internal project team members and third-party technical developers to create high-level (functional) designs that accurately document and map to business/architectural requirements
- Document and execute system, performance, and user-acceptance test plans to ensure that the system is error-free and meets the approved requirements and design
- Analyze and work with stakeholders to prioritize application defects/enhancements and participate in developing a change management process
- Help to develop training materials and deliver training and guidance to end-users
- Assist the Project Team with developing project estimates and detailed work plans
- Interact with other staff as needed using a diplomatic, professional service oriented approach

Requirements: The selected Business Analyst will have extensive experience working in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle including the creation of requirements, use cases, process models, data models, and functional diagrams.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with Object-Oriented analysis and design methodologies including UML modeling
- Experience with systems and processes related to the conduct of clinical trials
- Experience with metadata management solutions
- Project team experience including the ability to work within a defined project/system scope and timeline
- Work with technical and non-technical resources
- Communicate status and manage the delivery of results
- Demonstrated ability to organize information and processes in a logical and efficient manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong experience using MS Office products including MS Project and Visio
