| Description: Our client currently has an opening for a senior level Software Engineer to join an innovative start-up division of an established technology company. Based out of the Walnut Creek, CA office, this is a unique and highly technical role, requiring strong initiative, platform leadership and product to market experience in delivering a leading-edge platform solution. We are looking for a rock star. You will be responsible for developing products in an innovative and creative way. Our client works with satellites and satellite imagery. So you know the exciting stuff that you will be working with.

Requirements: Requirements Include:
- Coding rock star - lives and breathes code
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent (PhD is a plus)
- Extensive experience programming in Java
Extensive experience with:
- Unix/Linux
- Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate)
- Web Services (SOAP, REST)
- UI development
- Databases (Postgres, Oracle)
Experience with the following are a plus:
- Building online mapping services and applications
- OGC standards (WMS, WMTS, WFS, WCS, etc.)
- GIS mapping development technologies (ESRI, OpenGeo, etc.)
- Practical Agile development lifecycle experience
- Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems
- Experience building and releasing 'shrink-wrap' and hosted products in competitive landscapes
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Self started with the ability to multitask
- The ability to perform in a dynamic and -process-improving- environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent track record with premier, market-leading companies. Experience in a technology or scientific company is desired
- Strong client focus, business acumen and results orientation; both a strategic thinker and able to execute tactics
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment to strategically set and achieve organizational goals
- Ability to build teams, lead others, and promote inclusivity and results in culturally diverse settings
