Description: This role is responsible for leading the activities of several software engineering teams and supporting multiple lines of business and ensuring alignment with strategic planning. This role directs multiple teams in developing efficient systems, utilizing various technologies to help meet rapidly changing business needs, in the areas of productivity improvement, cost reduction, regulatory compliance support, and business expansion. This role must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous projects or programs across several lines of business involving a high degree of complexity.
Duties:
- Provide overall leadership and direction to multiple application development groups and/or groups involving a high degree of complexity to include project definition and management of work assignments; coordination with infrastructure groups; adherence to methodologies, standards / procedures, and corporate organization
- Be responsible for project delivery and resource management
- Provide guidance to the application development team including mentoring services, coaching, and overall skills training
- Provide value added consulting services to the Client Management Team in the recommendation, prioritization, development, and deployment of technology solutions supporting multiple lines of business
- Develop and present technology solutions to all levels of Management (technical and non-technical), and positively influence and gain acceptance of these recommendations
- Provide counseling, career development, and training plans for managed resources
- Accountable for ensuring adherence to all Corporate Policies and Procedures and SDLC/PMLC standards
- Manage budget and resource plans for assigned staff and projects
- Manage the project prioritization process in conjunction with client management
- Provide career development consulting and develop training plans for all staff

Requirements: Vice President of Application Management Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree (Bachelor's or equivalent in Math, Computer Science, or MIS is preferred)
- PMI Certification is desired
- 10+ years of functional experience
- Broad knowledge of mortgage banking, accounting, or financial serVices is preferred
- Knowledge of project management methods and practices is required
- Knowledge of systems development methods and practices is required
- Knowledge of Intranet / Internet systems development methods and practices is preferred
- Knowledge of methods and practices in a multi-platform environment is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in working directly with all levels of line staff, analysts, team leaders, and department managers in the client departments and other IT organizations in multiple sites and time zones
- The demonstrated ability to supervise IT staff and interact with IT management
- The ability to work with, mentor, and interact well with people from many different disciplines
- Experience in interfacing with clients, business partners, and management
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Management skill to administer team goals and objectives
- Proficient in data modeling and process modeling
- Must understand database design concepts
- Experience with staff development in a multi-cultural environment (coaching, performance evaluation, disciplinary counseling, hiring, and goal setting) is required
- Resource Management and project prioritization skills (allocation to project work tasks) are required
- Perform business case development (including Cost Benefit Analysis) and manage project budgets
- Understanding of strategic planning process "Company View" and the ability to give recommendations for best practices
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, written, and verbal skills are required
