Description: A growing international manufacturer is looking for a Senior Cost Analyst for their Los Angeles plant.
Essential Duties:
- Produce reports and monthly forecasts to track progress against established goals
- Provide P/L statements along with supplemental reports that show progress against budget
- Be intimately involved in the development of the annual operating unit budget
- Assure inventory is costed appropriately and the records are correct and timely by monitoring and analyzing variances and transactions
- Assist in developing the annual budget and participate in month-end close functions
- Provide assurance that decisions made based on standard costs and inventory flow are sound
- Estimate production costs to help secure new business for the company
- Prepare capital expenditure proposals (CEPS) to improve the production process and/or service to our customers
- Maintain production standards to provide accurate costs
- Maintain and create new production items in BPCS to generate shop orders for production
- Prepare production reports and maintain reporting structures to provide information about key metrics to management
- Support safety projects and procedures for manufacturing

Requirements: Educational Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Industrial Engineering (a plus)
Minimum Work Experience:
- 4 years of manufacturing accounting experience including cost accounting
- Able to produce reports and monthly forecasts
- Ability to produce P/L statements along with supplemental reports
- Intimately involved in the development of the annual operating unit budget
Minimum Special Technical Skills:
- Knowledge and high-level experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Access)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Special Technical Skills:
- BPCS or AS400 experience (desirable)
- Experience writing queries in AS400 or Access (desirable)
- SPC and Lean Manufacturing knowledge (desirable)
