Description: Our client is seeking a .Net/C# Applications and Database Developer. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The position is contract to hire and comes with a fair market rate and benefits. The planned conversion to permanent is from six months to one year. Our client is a small business that leverages rapid-paced advances in information technology to help satisfy the critical needs of its customers. They have developed a variety of Data fusion services that combine Data from multiple intelligence sources and provide the intelligence analyst the ability to analyze, filter, and visualize that Data. The client also has products and services that provide entity extraction, Data management and content tagging of intelligence Data. The client delivers and maintains a secure web portal for analyzing and visualizing linked/related Data. They are located in Southwest Austin and offer a fun and challenging work environment. They have a strong customer base and excellent long-term prospects. Currently, they are at about 60 people. The majority of personnel here have electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or math backgrounds. They are in an extremely niche technology environment, and often produce one-of-a-kind capabilities their customers.
Milestones: Write good procedures and queries; pure developer and don't need a DBA; sometimes will be writing code so that is huge plus
Level of difficulty and complexity:
Working with:
- .Net, C# applications development
- Test Database - old schema with 100 rows
- Deployed Database - same -old schema- with 400,000 entities
- Working with an -army related- Databases

Requirements: The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
Required Skills:
- 5 + years of experience in .Net, C# Applications programming. Java development experience is a plus
- 5+ years of database development experience. Preference is MS SQL Server
- OS - Microsoft XP current, XP not critical so long as solid Windows background
- 2-5 years of experience in Stored Procedures
- 2-5 years of experience in T-SQL to write stored procedures
- BS in Technology or hard science; other degrees ok if experience to back up
Desired Skills:
- SQL Server 2005 - that is what they are currently using
- Java and/or OOD development a huge plus as might not be enough full time DB development
