| Description: Our client is looking for financial counseling consultant for to work for a large well known healthcare organization. Under indirect supervision, at the point of service, you will provide financial counseling to patients in a personal interview to create a Payer source for Inpatient and Outpatient self-pay accounts.
This person identifies potential third party liability to include Workers Compensation, Commercial, COB, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. This person provides functional direction to Business Service Representatives and Receptionists. The Counselor determines and approves Medical Financial Assistance and payment arrangements.

Requirements: The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Health Care billing, collections, Financial Counseling, or equivalent
- Certificate of completion of a course in Medical Terminology
- Typing 35 WPM or as required by the Medical Center
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and to utilize Government Programs and alternate Payor sources (Workers Compensation, TPL, COB, Commercial, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability in patient registration, admissions, and billing practices (required)
