Description:  The person filling this position will design and execute performance, load, and/or stress tests for the company's hosted Real-Time fraud prevention solutions. Be responsible for assessing and/or certifying the level of performance and/or scalability of existing and new software systems that utilize the latest technologies including Java, Linux, MySQL, Web Services, SOAP, and hosted software services (ASP). Principal Duties:
  • Review existing and new systems and provide recommendations and/or suggestions with respect to performance and scalability
  • Create and maintain performance, load, and/or stress test scenarios and test cases
  • Execute test scenarios and/or test cases and log results appropriately
  • Report findings and discuss results / recommendations with fellow QA team members, project managers, developers, and others
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the QA Manager
Requirements:  The Performance Engineer must have extensive experience with a load test application such as LoadRunner, Robot, or others and must be able to help design and execute performance tests in accordance with QA processes and procedures established by the QA Manager. The Performance Engineer must be able to effectively interact with various members of the QA Team as well as other members of IT involved on the product / project. The selected candidate must have great problem solving skills, a strong attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Performance Engineer Specific Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience with load / performance testing in a software QA environment
  • Direct experience with performance tools, and the propensity to write and modify scripts within said tools
  • Strong knowledge of performance testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with the SDLC process and software quality standards and best practices
Candidates must have a general comfort level in the following:
