Description: The Data Analytic Consultant provides support in making strategic Data-related decisions by analyzing, manipulating, tracking, internally managing, and reporting Data. This position functions both as a consultant and as a high-level Data analyst. The position works with clients to develop the right set of questions/hypotheses, using the appropriate tools/skills to derive the best information to address customer needs.
Duties:
- Provides consultation to clients, including organizational leadership and guides work towards actionable outcomes
- Regularly measures the impact of business decisions on clients and customers
- Evaluates effectiveness of actions/programs implemented and makes recommendations
- Works with clients and staff to identify opportunities and methods to improve efficiencies with analysis
- Provides support to peers and mentoring to junior staff including; technical and programming assistance; project management and scoping; documentation review and support
- Directs and executes creative analytic approaches that lead to actionable outcomes which further promote organizational goals
- Designs and enhances Databases
- Designs menu systems that are effective and user-friendly
- Develops reports with accurate, easy to read, useful information
- Designs and generates tracking and monitoring tools
- Builds and maintains complex statistical SAS routines using macros, vendor software, and software written by self and others
- Tests and maintains Data integrity across multiple Databases (internal SAS, DB2, VSAM; external: Adobe, Excel, SAS parsing routines, and COBOL)
- Builds sophisticated statistical models and forecasting tools using these Databases
- Translates needs, issues, and ideas into effective strategies and action plans
- Formulates specific implementation plans pricing, CMI, PMG, and IT and evaluates the effectiveness of actions/programs implemented
- Develops creative alternative solutions
- Proactively recognizes potential issues

Requirements: The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a data management or analytic consulting position
- 5+ years SAS programming and MVS JCL experience
- Experience with MVS/TSO operating systems
- Experience with analytic manipulation and interpretation of large databases
- Very strong analytic and critical thinking skills, writing skills, communication skills, consulting skills, and ability to work within a team
- Ability to express complex analytical and technical information to senior management or to audiences with clinical training
- An independent self-starter
- Proven ability in handling confidential data appropriately
- Working well in diversified team structure
- Influential and effective in both written documents and verbally in formal presentations
- Recognized as an expert in at least one quantitative and/or qualitative method (e.g., methodology, research design, clinical content, or operational expertise as appropriate)
- Ability to recognize and develop plans to address the competing client expectations of executive and facility leadership
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
