Description: Growing and established Semiconductor company in the Austin, TX area is looking for a Sr. Applications Engineer with the RFIC background. We are looking for candidates nationwide willing to relocate to the Austin, TX area. Once again, the position is in the Austin, TX area. Primary activities include providing technical product support at the RF system and component level. The applications engineer will be responsible for assisting in the development of new RF tuner IC products, developing data sheets and application notes, and representing the customer's interests to the company's sales, marketing, design and manufacturing groups. Duties will also include designing evaluation boards, performing laboratory measurements, and writing technical documents.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as technical interface to the customer
- Design RF front end circuits and printed circuit boards
- Design customer evaluation boards, develop software tools, and create support documentation
- Provide the sales organization and field applications engineers with technical support
- Provide application / system design support to the IC design teams
- Assist in design verification testing of integrated circuits
- Lead developments and projects within the applications team

Requirements: MSEE plus 3 years RF design/product experience, or BSEE plus 5 years RF design/product experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- RF board design experience preferred
- Strong written / verbal communication & presentation skills
- Strong troubleshooting and debug skills
- Communication design experience including knowledge of analog and digital modulation schemes is desirable.
- Understanding of commercial video broadcasting systems and standards (DVB-S, DVB-T, ATSC, NTSC) is desirable
- Experience with the broadband industry including RF Tuners is a plus.
- Strong mixed-signal background
- Working knowledge of: Microsoft Office tools or equivalent, Schematic capture and PCB layout (OrCAD, PADS, or equivalent EDA tool), RF / EM simulation tools
- Programming experience for instrument control is desirable.
