Description:  We are seeking experienced Back-end Engineers to help build a bleeding-edge consumer Cloud Media platform. If you are passionate about scalable architectures, protocol stacks, and operating systems and want to join a strong team building a novel consumer product from the ground up; then this is the opportunity for you! This exciting and challenging role is on a 'green field' project - we can offer the right candidate a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and a creative and innovative environment. Our client's back-end team will be responsible for building and scaling out the back-end of a novel, multi-platform Cloud Media product. The successful candidate will be joining an established 'skunk-works' project which enjoys the strength and resources of an established organization coupled with the dynamics of a start-up. Candidate Description:
  • Utilize your passion for applying OO principles, design patterns, re-factorings, and common sense to build a quality, robust, and maintainable CodeBase
  • Be an experienced practitioner of Agile methods including test automation, iterative delivery, and continuous integration
  • Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to work collaboratively and constructively in a small, focused team
  • Must love music; be familiar with the digital media / music landscape and a potential user of the product
Requirements:  Database Development Skills / Qualifications:
  • Be familiar with modern Web frameworks, architectures, and Cloud infrastructure including RoR, memcached, nginx, DTrace, PostgreSQL, Linux, and AWS
  • Must be adept in one or more dynamic and static programming languages: Ruby, Python, Objective-C, C++, Java, etc.
  • Expertise in metrics-driven performance analysis; debugging and addressing scaling bottlenecks and operations monitoring / automation
Minimum Education, Certification, and/or Training:
  • BS-level software engineering background
Preferred:
  • MS-level software engineering background
Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years of development experience
Preferred:
  • 10 years of development experience
