Description: Kforce is seeking a Senior Windows Server Engineer / Sys Admin. This position will provide day-to-day operational support for Windows Servers. The selected candidate must display a history of continually suggesting improvements to optimize existing and new processes. This is a 7x24 environment and you must be able to join a 7x24 rotating on-call schedule.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Windows-based hardware, Operating Systems, and third party applications in a transaction intensive 7x24 domain
- Test, document, upgrade, and patch existing servers with minimal down-time
- Administer general corporate Windows infrastructure applications (Exchange, Active Directory, etc.)
- Assist in change management processes
- Improve the efficiency and help standardize current processes
- Respond to and resolve incident and problem tickets
- Document and thoroughly understand the application architecture, system configuration across platforms, and interface with various systems; then use this knowledge effectively to resolve issues
- Work closely with the customer support team to communicate the root cause of the outage, duration, and recommendations or steps to resolve issues

Requirements: Professional Experience:
- BA degree in Computer Science or related field plus 6-8 years of experience supporting Windows Systems in a large production environment or equivalent
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
- Ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent activities and meet timeframes and deliverables
Technical Experience Includes:
- HP Windows Technology
- Supporting Exchange 2000/2003/2007
- SMS
- Active Directory and domain controllers
- Configuration and management of application servers and Web Servers
- Web-based application development / deployment problems
- Network-based protocols
- Windows Security Issues
- Microsoft Certified System Administration (MCSA)
- Citrix experience
- VM experience (a plus)
Business:
- Must be able to understand the business impact for the open systems environment
- Achieve and understand Service Level commitments for all open systems platforms
- Must have a technical and business mind-set
- Must have Operations Support experience

- Bachelor's Degree - Yes
- Relative experience - 6+ years
- Troubleshooting - 5 (Expert) of 5 (Expert) and 4+ years
