Description: As the SEC continues to roll-out the mandate for XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) financial Reporting to public companies, this position will work with our client companies to prepare their financial information for filing with the SEC using. This position provides a significant opportunity for growth and development as it provides a unique blend of frequent communication and interaction with the external Reporting personnel of client companies throughout the U.S., working closely with internal teams at the company to improve processes and provide financial solutions to public companies, developing expertise to help the company maintain its leadership position in the XBRL markets, and conquering the challenges of learning from the ground-floor in a new field that is growing exponentially as XBRL expands to financial Reporting and beyond.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Interactive Services and working with the XBRL Team, the XBRL financial Reporting Specialist Senior will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage workflow, communications, and timelines for assigned clients on multiple, concurrent projects
- Understand client prepared financial statements and create XBRL by relating the financial statements to the standard U.S. GAAP taxonomy
- Provide financial services by understanding and organizing information in client financial disclosures and structuring the XBRL taxonomy accordingly
- Participate in client meetings to present and explain XBRL information to the client personnel
- Utilize the internal job management system to facilitate information workflow
Positions are located in New York and Palo Alto, California!

Requirements: The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- Bachelor's Degree; a major in Accounting is desired
- Certified Public Accountant (active or inactive) is preferred, but not required
- 5+ years of external financial reporting experience, preferably with SEC reporting companies
- Public accounting experience, particularly in an auditing role (strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial disclosures across a breadth of industries
- Strong understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP)
- Knowledge of SEC filing and reporting requirements
- Experience with external client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience and aptitude with technical software applications
- Awareness of XBRL software for tagging and viewing financial information is preferred, but not required
- Proven success in providing exceptional service levels in a fast-paced environment
- Minimal travel is required
