| Description: Manage the Systems Operations and Networks for a leading university. Provide technical leadership and services throughout the university with a focus on providing innovative solutions, delivering exceptional customer service, and creating a reliable infrastructure that demonstrates value to the students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Provide campus-wide services in the areas of academic and research technology, enterprise application systems, and services as well as networking and telecommunications, information security, data center operations, user support, training, and outreach.
Reporting to the CIO, the Director is responsible for strategic leadership and operational management of systems and operations facilities and services. Be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the university's systems infrastructure including a heterogeneous array of systems, servers, storage technologies, and other peripheral equipment. Lead design and development and maintain a modern data center that keeps in line with growing information requirements. The Director will manage a technical staff responsible for systems maintenance and upgrades; capacity planning; life cycle management; quality assurance; load management; and virtualized services. Play a key role in developing plans for business continuity, disaster recovery, contract services, and outsourcing arrangements, as appropriate.

Requirements: Senior Director Qualifications:
- Technical Bachelor's Degree is required; an MS Degree is preferred
- Minimum ten years of operations experience (five of which have been in the management of technical staff)
- Experience managing computing-related services in a higher education environment is highly desired
- Experience managing heterogeneous system platforms and equipment
- Strong leadership / communications skills
- Experience in managing data center operations
- Coaching, consensus building, and the ability to effectively manage resources to address competing priorities are essential
- Demonstrated team performance and change management skills are required
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor agreements and developing and managing budgets
