Description: The Senior Linux UNIX Systems Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Linux / UNIX systems network.
Functions:
- Strategize and plan for expansions including frequent contact with external parties over connectivity
- Serve as a real troubleshooter and excel at spotting issues and monitoring problems
- Be willing to share knowledge with colleagues to raise the team's collective expertise
- Build and support a high performance Linux/UNIX Server infrastructure
- Work with state-of-the-art UNIX system's hardware and software
- Keep an open eye for technical improvements
- Safeguard a high availability and redundancy

Requirements: To be considered for this role, the candidate must meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- Strong academic background with a B.S. or B.A Degree
- An M.S. or higher education is preferred
- 5-10+ years of experience in Linux and UNIX engineering and systems administration
- In-depth knowledge of UNIX installation, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, capacity planning, back-ups, and recoveries
- Strong UNIX Shell scripting background
- Knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches, WAN protocols, and connections is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot a wide array of system, networking, and hardware problems
- Detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task
- Equally self-sufficient or able to work well in a team
- Outgoing and communicative
- Service-minded; able to help with whatever is needed
- Able to deal well with pressure
